Internet Grows to Nearly 220 Million Domain Names in 3rd Quarter
Almost five million domain names were added to the Internet during the third quarter of 2011. This brings the total number of registered domain names to nearly 220 million worldwide across all domain extenstions according to VeriSign, Inc. VRSN -0.24% , provider of Internet infrastructure services for the networked world.
